Some information on what to do
If you Aren't Planning to come Home
Each young person in our carte is different and may have slightly different rules to support their needs. In most cases the rules on missing and absences are the same.
as part of your placement agreement you are expected to remain in placement for at least 4 days of the week. If you stay out of the house, you should make sure that placement knows where you will be staying, by providing an address and any contact details of an appropriate adult so that we are able to verify this information.

Missing Episodes
If you are out past your agreed curfew and you do not send correct or appropriate details of where you are, you can be reported missing to the police and also to your Local Authority’s Out of Hours Emergency Team.
If we are still in contact with you and you make it clear you are coming home, we will not report you missing immediately, but if we lose contact with you, or you have not appropriately shared details of where you are, we will report you missing tas you may be at risk and this is to safeguard you and keep all relevant people aware of the situation.
Unauthorised Absence
Some young people have a list of "safe" locations, or places they are allowed to stay at over night on occasions. If you are out past your agreed curfew and you have confirmed you are at a safe and verified location, this will not be reported as an unauthorised absence or missing.
If you share your location and it is not on your approved list of places you can stay, this may be reported to the local authority (and your social worker) as an "unauthorised absence".
