Key Working and Mentoring

We are well experienced in helping you achieve the best from your placement with us. We are determined to give you the best experience and help you access your potential. Being younger than many other mentors helps us do this better as we understand where you are coming from.

Our mentors are different form the ones you may find anywhere else. For Many, having creative backgrounds, allows them to help you find new creative and fun outlets, with many alternative engagement strategies. Outside of general support and help we aim to find things you enjoy doing and making these something to benefit you for example creating music, learning how to play an instrument, different types of art and general fun things to do.

Our main service is to help you become more independent and guide you through areas of life. We help you develop your skills in many areas, so you are prepared for living on your own and everything that comes with that. Whether you live in one of our houses or use other aspects of our services, a dedicated mentor will be assigned to you, to support you, help you gain confidence in yourself and your abilities and to teach you new skills, while maximising on ones you already have. They can help you in areas of education, employment, training and finding things you enjoy.

Your Set hours

You will have set key working hours, based on your referral form, risk assessment and be decided with your social worker after we have appropriately assessed your level of need, these hours may be adjusted every now and then depending on how you are progressing. Once we know your hours we will sit down with you to work out a schedule that accounts for any extra things you do such as school/college or work.

Key Working

We want to get to know you! We will take time to get to know you, what activities you prefer and things you would like to engage in. This will help us to tailor your sessions to you and help us build a better working relationship.

It is our job to help you reach a good level of independence so a lot of our sessions will focus on helping you develop skills towards independence, these sessions will likely be focused on the key working codex and the independent skills assessment these are workbooks that the staff may use to review what skills you have and figure out where you may need additional support.
